If you are having difficulty getting darts to stick, try adjusting your distance to the dartboard until you find the proper distance for your throw. Then slowly work your way to the official throwing line while making slight adjustments in your throwing technique.
Try holding the tip side of the dart, and standing one or two steps in front of the throwing line. Be sure to mark your new throwing line so you can come back to it after each round. After you develop some success, and feel for the throw, return to the throwing line. Use the standard grip, which will help account for the increase in distance to the board.
Pick a target on the board (i.e. bull) and always aim at the same target while starting to develop your technique.
Play with friends on an electronic board so that throws are recorded even if they don’t stick.
